Virtual Vidioke – Frequently Asked Questions

🎵 1. General Info

• What is Virtual Vidioke?
  Vidioke is a combination of video and karaoke, allowing a person to perform live in virtual scenery using a green screen and chroma key. The app installs on a PC and operates like a video game where users are in the scene live.
• How does it work?
  Pick a song, play and perform it in front of a green screen, record video, and share.
• Is it free to use?
  Demo versions are free and are basically full versions with watermarks and advertising.
• Do I need an account?
  Yes, to download software, audio, and video media.

🎤 2. Recording & Gear

• Do I need a special mic?
  No, standard phone or laptop mics work. For Vidioke, use karaoke or an audio mixer for input.
• Can I use headphones?
  Yes, while not required, headphones can help with monitoring live audio or video audio playback.
• How do I fix audio lag?
  Lag is generally not a problem. There is a short lag between audio input and video output as AI (Audio Intelligence) generates the video. However, this does not affect the streamed or recorded videos.
• Can I record with a friend?
  Yes, as many as can fit in the camera view.

🔒 3.Account Safety & Privacy

• Can children use this platform?
  Generally, it is safe for all family members. Some music and videos might contain references unsuitable for young users. Adults should supervise children 13 years and younger. Memberships are for adults 18 and over only.
• How do I reset my password?
  Click “Forgot Password” on the login page.
• Is my Membership Information Safe?
  We only keep your information for logins, purchases, and customer feedback. We do not use or resell your personal information. See https://virtualvidioke/privacy for our privacy notice.

• What does Premium include?
  Access to royalty-free AI music and videos for use in Vidioke creation.
• How do I cancel my account?
  Manage subscriptions in your account billing tab.
• Are there refunds for Premium accounts?
  No, but your access lasts until billing ends.
• What payment methods do you take?
  All major credit cards and PayPal.

🟢 5. Green Screen Chroma Key Setup

• Lighting placement: Place two lights directly on the green screen background.
• Light consistency: Ensure background lighting is completely even with no shadows.
• Subject distance: Stand at least 4 to 6 feet away from the screen.
• Separation lighting: Use a key light and fill light on yourself to separate from the background.
• Wrinkle removal: Keep the fabric taut to eliminate dark folds and creases.

🎵 6. Audio Input & Karaoke or Mixer Routing

• Hardware connection: Plug your external karaoke machine or audio mixer into your PC via USB.
• Alternative connection: Use a 3.5 mm auxiliary cable into the PC “Line In” port.
• PC default settings: Open Windows Sound Control Panel and set the device as default.
• Level adjustment: Set input volume to 80% to avoid clipping or distortion.
• Monitoring: Plug headphones into the mixer or PC to hear the backing track.

💻 7. Installing OBS Studio on PC

• Download software: Navigate to the official OBS Studio Website.
• Select installer: Click the Windows installer button to download the setup file.
• Run setup: Double-click the downloaded executable file to launch the wizard.
• Installation path: Follow the prompts, keep the default path, and click install.
• Initial launch: Open OBS and complete the initial auto-configuration wizard for streaming.

🎬 8. Configuring OBS for Chroma Key and Audio

• Add video capture: Click the + icon under Sources, select Video Capture Device, and choose your webcam.
• Apply Chroma Key: Right-click your video source, select Filters, click + under Effect Filters, and choose Chroma Key.
• Fine-tune filter: Adjust the Similarity and Smoothness sliders until the green turns completely black.
• Add karaoke audio: Click + under Sources, select Audio Input Capture, and select your karaoke device.
• Test audio sync: Speak into the mic while playing music to check the audio mixer bars.

🌐 9. Streaming Live to Facebook

• Access Facebook Producer: Navigate to Facebook Live Producer on your browser.
• Select stream source: Choose Streaming Software to generate your unique stream key.
• Copy credentials: Copy the Stream Key provided on the Facebook dashboard.
• Paste into OBS: In OBS, go to Settings > Stream, select Facebook Live, and paste the key.
• Go live: Click Start Streaming in OBS, then click the blue Go Live button on Facebook.

• Secure mounting: Clip the webcam firmly to your monitor or mount it on a stable tripod.
• Camera height: Position the camera at eye level to ensure a natural looking angle.
• Disable auto-exposure: Open your camera software and turn off auto-exposure to lock your lighting.
• Lock focus manually: Set manual focus on your face so the lens does not blur during movement.
• Adjust resolution: Set the camera output to 1080p at 30 or 60 frames per second.
• Format setting: Select the NV12 or YUY2 video format in OBS for optimal color processing.

• Standard music warning: Streaming commercial music on social media can trigger automatic muting or stream takedowns.
• Facebook sound collection: Use Facebook’s or YouTube’s native library of approved tracks to guarantee safety from penalties.
• Fair use exemption: Short clips used for reviews or educational commentary may occasionally bypass filters.
• Dispute process: Submit a counter-notice through Facebook or YouTube if your authorized music gets flagged incorrectly.

🔧 15. Troubleshooting & Common Issues

• Why is my green screen blurry in The Stage?
  Check your webcam for dirt, focus and resolution. Open your webcam software settings and manually lock focus on your face instead of using auto-focus. Ensure your camera is set to 1080p at 30 fps. Move 4-6 feet away from the screen and ensure consistent lighting on the green background.
• Audio is out of sync when recording or streaming.
  Lower your input volume to 80% in Windows Sound settings to prevent clipping. Check that your karaoke device and PC audio sample rates match (both should be 44.1 kHz or 48 kHz). Restart OBS and re-select your audio input device. If lag persists, try switching from hardware encoding (NVENC) to software encoding in OBS Settings > Output.
• OBS crashes when I add the Chroma Key filter.
  Your GPU may be overloaded. Switch from hardware encoding to software encoding: go to Settings > Output > Encoder, and select “x264” instead of “NVIDIA NVENC”. Alternatively, reduce your resolution from 1080p to 720p. Close background applications (Chrome, Discord, etc.) to free up system resources.
• I can’t find my webcam in OBS video source list.
  Restart OBS completely. Check Windows Device Manager to confirm your webcam is recognized. If the camera appears as “Unknown Device,” reinstall the webcam drivers from the manufacturer’s website. Disconnect and reconnect the USB cable. If using a USB hub, plug the webcam directly into your PC’s USB port instead.
• The Stage application won’t launch or keeps crashing.
  Make sure your PC meets minimum hardware requirements (Section 11). Update your NVIDIA or AMD graphics drivers to the latest version. Reinstall The Stage software by uninstalling it first, restarting your PC, then downloading and installing the latest version from your Virtual Vidioke account.
• My green screen has purple or blue halos around my body.
  This is color fringing caused by improper chroma key settings. In OBS, adjust the Chroma Key filter: lower the “Similarity” slider to 350-400 and increase “Smoothness” to 85-95. Ensure your green screen fabric is completely flat with no wrinkles. Add a separation light (key light) on yourself to create contrast between you and the background.
• I can hear myself but the backing track won’t play through my headphones.
  In OBS, check that your audio input device is selected in Sources. In Windows Sound Control Panel, set your karaoke device as the default recording device. Plug headphones into your mixer or karaoke machine (not the PC) so you hear both your voice and the backing track in real-time. Do NOT use PC speakers or you’ll create feedback.
• Facebook Live stream starts but video freezes or disconnects.
  Check your internet speed-you need at least 5 Mbps upload speed for smooth 1080p streaming. In OBS Settings > Output, reduce bitrate from 6000 to 4500 kbps. Close other bandwidth-heavy applications (downloads, video calls, etc.). Move your router closer to your PC or use an Ethernet cable instead of WiFi for stable connection.
• The Stage™ demo won’t activate or says “License Invalid”
  Log out of your Virtual Vidioke account and log back in. Clear your browser cache and cookies. Download the latest demo version from virtualvidioke.com/the-stage. If the issue persists, contact support with your account email and order ID (if applicable).
• Recording is choppy or dropping frames during playback.
  Lower your bitrate in OBS Settings > Output to 5000-5500 kbps. Switch from hardware encoding (NVENC) to software encoding (x264). Reduce resolution from 1080p to 720p. Ensure you’re recording to an SSD, not an external USB drive (external drives cause frame drops). Close all other applications before recording.
• Chroma Key filter removes too much of my body or hair.
  Your “Similarity” slider is set too high. In OBS Chroma Key filter, lower Similarity to 300-350. Increase “Smoothness” to improve edge blending. Ensure your clothing contrasts with the green screen-avoid wearing green, yellow, or light colors. Add fill lighting to yourself to increase contrast with the background.
• I’m streaming but viewers say they can’t see or hear me on Facebook.
  In OBS, verify your stream key is correct and that you’re streaming to “Facebook Live.” Check that both your video source (webcam) and audio source (karaoke device) are enabled and unmuted in the OBS mixer. Click “Start Streaming” in OBS, then click “Go Live” on Facebook. If still no video, restart both OBS and Facebook.
• My PC fan is loud and the system overheats during streaming.
  Your GPU is working too hard. In OBS Settings > Output, reduce bitrate to 4000-4500 kbps. Lower resolution from 1080p to 720p. Switch to software encoding (x264) instead of hardware encoding. Close background apps and ensure your PC has proper ventilation. Consider adding a cooling pad under your PC tower.
• The Stage™ audio synchronization is delayed when I sing.
  This is normal-The Stage uses AI audio analysis to generate video effects, which creates a short processing delay. This delay does NOT appear in your final recorded or streamed video. Your viewers will see perfect sync. You can reduce latency in The Stage settings by lowering the audio processing quality. When using live, use the output directly from your karaoke or audio mixer for listening.
• I accidentally deleted my Virtual Vidioke account. Can I recover it?
  Contact Virtual Vidioke support immediately with your account email. We may be able to recover your account within 30 days of deletion. Provide your order ID (from your email receipt) to speed up recovery. Once deleted beyond 30 days, account and purchase history cannot be restooll to the bottom, after section 14 (Royalty-Free Video Creation)
